Piecing together your first pattern can be intimidating! Here are the steps to printing and piecing your PDF sewing pattern.
PLEASE NOTE: I am on a Mac, so the PC interface will be slightly different. However, the technique is the same for both PC and Mac’s.
STEP 1
Download your PDF attachment.
STEP 2
Open, and proceed to print. Make sure your print settings say 100% scale, or actual. Scale to fit will cause your pattern to be incorrect. Many times, this is the default setting.

Above image shows incorrect scale- your pattern will be too big!

Above image shows correct scale- your pattern will be the perfect size!
STEP 3
After you print, measure your test square both directions to make sure nothing is skewed.

Measure vertically up and down

Measure horizontally side to side
STEP 4
After verifying the test square measures 2″ x 2″, cut out each rectangle on every printed sheet. If your test square is not correct, see the ‘Useful Info’ tab.

STEP 5
This is how your paper sheets will look after cutting out the rectangles.

STEP 6
Grab tape, and match the rectangle edges using the letters/numbers as a guide. Do this for all pieces. I printed using black and white settings to save ink, but if you printed in color you will be able to see all the different sizes in varying colors and the different color connecting dots.

STEP 7
After taping together, all you need to do is cut out the size you need! Or using tracing paper, trace the size you need. Now you’re ready to cut out some fabric!
