Peanut Patterns Clothes Size Chart

It is recommended to determine the size by measuring your kiddo, not the clothing size you buy at the store.

When measuring, it is best to use a flexible measuring tape. The tape should be just snug enough so it won’t slide down. All measurements should be taken level with the ground.

Chest- wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits.

Waist- wrap the tape measure around the narrowest part of the waist. Typically near the belly button.

Hip- wrap the tape measure around the fullest part of the hip/buttocks area.

Inseam- the crotch point to the floor.

Height- top of the head to the floor.

Useful Info

1. PRINT SETTINGS

If this is your first time using a PDF pattern, check out these detailed instructions for printing and piecing a pattern.

Make sure print settings are set to 100% scale or actual size. Otherwise, your test square will not be correct. Ideally, before you print off the whole pattern:

You will print off the first page of the pattern and measure. If correct, proceed to print out the rest.

If using Adobe Layers, make sure to select all specific sizes you’d like. If you do not have Adobe Layers, you will get a nested pattern with all sizes.

2. WRONG SIZE TEST SQUARE

It happens. Your test square is either too big or too small. The best option is to reprint (see point 1). If you don’t want to waste paper and your square is about 1/4” to 3/8”…

TOO BIG- Size down one size

TOO SMALL– Size up one size

3. COMMERCIAL USE

There are no limitations on Peanut Patterns. Sell to whomever however many you’d like.

4. DISTRIBUTION

While there is no commercial limitation, every pattern purchased is a license for only one person. This means that you can’t pass out the pattern at your sewing group unless everyone buys a copy (we do want to stay in business).
